finley is 3 months old!

3 months have passed since i sat in that hospital and waited for this little girl to arrive. her birth seems to have been an indicator of her disposition. both have been delightfully pain free :) this month has been interesting because i have noticed that she may be even more laid back than little oliver jack. i have been praying that finley will have a gentleness about her that is somewhat lacking in all the other personalities in the house...mine included. kyle is definitely the most gentle spirited person in the house and all the rest of us are very in-your-face. and so far, little finley has been happy to oblige. she has started smiling more frequently and she has even started giggling out loud. calvary likes to say that the noise she makes right before she builds up to a cry is giggling, but i have actually witnessed an authentic giggle. she sleeps quite a bit and handles the car trips with relative grace. she loves to cuddle and would spend most of her days being held if she could. we tried to introduce a little barley ( i was told that barley was better for breastfed babies because it helped their bowels ) but she seemed so uninterested after a week of trying that we decided to wait a little longer. calvary is beginning to show more interest in her now that she laughs at his silliness. he looked at me yesterday and said, "you know, finley is really in love with me!". oliver jack continues to be smitten with his baby sister and looks for her first thing in the morning. he wants her to lay beside him, sit beside him, or be in his lap. most times you can find him hovering over her kissing her forehead or feet. he calls her "baby rose". harper is my biggest helper. she entertains her while i cook dinner, holds her if i need to collect clothing for the rest of my crew, lays with her in my bed while i get breakfast together and mothers her in all the ways that a 6 year old can. never has a baby been so adored.
